Helpful tips

Looking for tips and tricks from our more experienced editors?

  • Zoom in for precision. At low zoom a few pixels can be a big chunk of time. Crank the pps slider up before fine-tuning a word's edges.

  • Slow the audio down to 0.5× to catch fast or unclear lyrics, then time them with hold-R.

  • Use fly mode when you want to click around the lyrics panel without the playhead chasing your clicks.

  • A move "snapped back"? The target spot was too tight — a neighbour couldn't shrink enough to fit. Make room first, or resize the neighbour.

  • Find/Replace says "Finish editing first." A word is still in edit mode. Press Enter or Esc to close the editor, then try again.

  • The Save button stays coloured. That means you still have unsaved changes — the last save either hasn't happened or failed. Save again.

  • Everything can be undone. Don't be afraid to experiment — Cmd/Ctrl + Z walks back every change one step at a time.
